EverTube - Free Video Player for YouTube for iOS

EverTube is not a full YouTube player -- rather it is designed to create short playlists you can run in the background or customize for your needs. It's not always easy to use, however. It takes some time to set up a new list, there are no instructions onscreen, and the search tool doesn't allow for a lot of customization. That said, if all you need is a basic YouTube browser and a way to continuously watch videos or music videos in the background, this app will get the job done.

When you open EverTube, there will be a list of hot or featured videos prepopulated in your list. You can play one or you can start searching. The play controls are located at the bottom of the screen and include shuffling, skip, back, and send to friend -- which connects with e-mail and SMS. You can also go to the settings menu and log in to your YouTube account to comment or favorite videos later. There is a separate favorite button, as well, that works while logged out so you can save videos for later. The interface here is not perfect -- the controls are not where you expect them, search is limited, and there are no feature menus or categories for browsing; but it works well in list mode and you can still access all of the basic menus like comments by tapping any one video.

EverTube is designed to offer a stripped-down YouTube experience and while it would have been nice to see more features integrated into the app, what is here works fairly well.
