The modern learning ecosystem is finally plug-and-play. Essentials is a free, fully xAPI-conformant learning record store (LRS) and is our most basic solution to start tracking and exploring learning outside a LMS. It's ideal for both L&D practitioners and developers, as it allows multiple options for getting data in and showing progress while providing bumpers so you don't drown in the data or reporting.

L&D practitioners can use to answer questions about learners and their activities. Use Essentials LRS: as a stepping stone to start using learning analytics; for a snapshot view of organizational learning and activities; and to get out-of-the-box functionality--including a preconfigured reporting dashboard, drill-down reports.

Developers can use Essentials to view and debug xAPI statements in an easy-to-ready format or full JSON, measure the statement output of xAPI-enabled experiences, and deploy and test xAPI tools. They also can use it as a: repository for your data; test engine for your xAPI content or data; snapshot of organizational learning and activities; or stepping stone to start using learning analytics.
