EasyTether Tablet implements carrier-independent tethering. Works over USB and Bluetooth. No root, no tethering fees.

EasyTether Tablet compatibility notes:

Android 7.0 / 6.0 / 5.1 / 5.0: web browsing works

Android 4.4: does not generally work; some devices may work with dummy Wi-Fi trick though.

Android 4.3 down to 4.0.3: web browsing works; dummy Wi-Fi or a similar trick required for other apps.

These notes apply to the Tablet-side app only. EasyTether for phones works on all Android versions.

Install on your tablet and follow the instructions.

EasyTether Tablet provides Internet connection shared from your phone using USB or Bluetooth.

USB tethering requires a USB host cable (also known as a USB OTG cable)!

If you need to tether your phone to your computer or router, see the phone-side EasyTether application.

A known issue:

Apps that ask the system if there is an Internet connection do not work.

It happens because the system does not treat VPN connection without underlying Wi-Fi, 3G or 4G connection as Internet connection. It does not matter if you use the Lite or the full EasyTether on your phone.

The workaround is to connect to some dummy Wi-Fi network (without Internet access).

Pros
I have been using Easy Tether for years to get on the internet on my desktop computer and it has saved me thousands on internet bills since I have unlimited data on my cell phone. I recently got a tablet and now use Easy Tether on it too. I have the paid version which lets me go to https sites. It only cost $10. When I first installed it on the tablet I couldnt get online but I think I kept trying https sites and thats why it wasnt working. I contacted support to get a new activation code since I had got a new phone too and had to reinstall the app too. One thing that surprised was that I was able to get on the internet on both my desktop and tablet at the same time with Easy Tether.
Cons
I have a Galaxy Tab 3 and the only complaint I have is that since I keep my mobile data and wifi turned off on the tablet, every time I go to a website it gives me a popup saying there is no connection. It will still go to websites using the Easy Tether bluetooth connection. I am sure I could find a way to stop it from telling me every time, but I dont really get on the internet that much on the tablet.
Summary
Its a great app if you dont want to pay for internet ever again and have unlimited data on your phone.<br /><br /><span class='notifyMsg'> Updated </span>on Jun 17, 2014<p/>I just fixed my "No Connection" popup problem. I also read that Easy Tether probably wont work on my tablet but it does. The way I got rid of the popups would also correct a problem that would cause Easy Tether to not work. First of all Easy Tether might not work with KitKat Android version (unless they have corrected it already). One other reason Easy Tether might not work is because Apps that check the system to see if there is an Internet connection first (3G, 4G or Wi-Fi) might not recognize the Bluetooth connection as an internet connection and may have problems. That was why I was getting the "No Connection" pop-ups but it still connected. I solved this problem by turning on an old wireless router that isnt connected to the internet and connecting the tablet to it. Problem solved. Now the tablet thinks it has an internet connection. No more pop-ups and Apps that check for internet first will see that the Wi-Fi is on. So now I can give this App 5 stars

Cons
It pairs my tablet with my phone but that's all. It won't let me connect to the internet.
Summary
I contacted their support line and it was a waste of time. I have had previous conversations with Mobile Stream and they were productive. This was a waste of time and bandwidth.
