The application displays conversion results in real time and offers a basic player for previewing clips. However, the help files are not built right into the interface, and you'll only find a small FAQ on the developer's site. Also, the trial version lets you convert or merge only five minutes of a movie. Though this restriction is more generous than those of some of its competitors, it's still not ideal. All told, Easy AVI/VCD/DVD/MPEG Converter is likely to interest users seeking a no-nonsense way to convert and join video files.

I tried several other free versions, but this one gave me the best results, after purchase it has worked as expected. I have used it on many types of files and have had good results. I originally wanted to convert PAL to NCSC which it did without a hitch. I seems quick and the quality of the result is good.

Documentation and help is lacking. You really have to fiddle with it to figure it out. I can't seem to get the file splice function to work but I have not had much use for it anyway.
