None. Maybe it costs less but you get a whole lot less in non-monetary ways.
Cons
Had Earthlink for years. It just went downhill more and more. Lousy tech support, also unfriendly and unhelpful people when had a billing problem.

it was set up as default on my dell system back in 2000 i cancelled my service with them they told me it was cancelled even gave me a confirmation number, then 3 months later recieved a bill from them in the mail took me 3 more months of fighting
Summary
with them over the phone before they finally "really cancelled it" there was no way I was going to give in and pay 48 dollars for a service I never used, stay away as far away as you can
