DXi FM Synthesizer is a multimedia application designed for iPhone that enables users to create distinctive sounds and music. Drawing inspiration from the classic FM synthesizers of the 1980s, this app combines nostalgic elements with modern capabilities. It features a 4-operator FM synthesizer, complete with anti-aliased oscillators and a selection of 8 algorithms, allowing for extensive sound design possibilities. Users can edit tones and generate sound effects with customizable envelope settings, frequency options, and waveform choices, including feedback control on the fourth operator.

In addition to its synthesis capabilities, DXi FM Synthesizer includes two master effects: a low-pass filter with resonance and a delay effect, which enhance the overall sound quality. The application also features a 16-step loop sequencer, enabling further composition development. Functionalities such as import/export options for tone saving, audio recording, and support for external MIDI keyboards via Core MIDI USB adapters are available.
