Lord Shiva's body has poisonous snakes as ornaments. Lord Shiva's form is said to be beyond the descriptive capability of even other gods, hence Lord Shiva is worshipped in the symbolic form of a 'shivalinga'. Lord Shiva's consort is Devi Parvathi. Together, they are known as the universal couple.
