• May work okay, but there's better out there

  It's not really worth trying in my opinion. I went with a different program that was able to help me get rid of several backups that contained backups of backups of backups. I had a series of computer crashes during a really busy time in my life and had to clean up what came out to be ~900GB of duplicate files. This program was *not* the one that was sufficient for this.

  Summary

  While you can try the product for free yourself, I don't recommend it. I found Duplicate Cleaner (and eventually Duplicate Cleaner PRO) to be much better at catching all the files as well as easier to use. In addition, I was able to trust that program much more than this one as it's rather clunky and doesn't seem to function nearly at the same level as it's competition.

  Fast, easy to use, looks good, has all the feature I want like it gives you a similarity percentage of the results like the software 'fast duplicate finder'. each file has it's own unique icon and automatically selects all the duplicates.

  Summary

  I've tested this software with 12 other softwares and this one failed because it only found 66/72 duplicate files. All other software, even free ones found all 72 files. I wanted to see if it scans 'all' types of files so I took sample files and copied all of to see if the software could find all file types and I was disappointed with this software, it only found 66/72 which is terrible. My duplicate file finder 1.0, All dup 3.3.25, Duplicate file cleaner 2.6.2 and Fast duplicate file finder 3.2.0.1 did a way better when it comes to accuracy, speed and features.

  has nice statistical analysis of files types being duplicated, similar to ShowSize PE 5.0.2

  Cons

  once the file columns are clicked, it is hard to determine the duplicates groupings (although this can be done via the hashcode column). does not appear to find as many duplicates as Easy Duplicate Finder

  Pros

  I have a huge music archive with a lot of duplicates. I have tried different duplicate removal tools but this is the best i have ever tried. <p> <p>12,5 GB disk space was freed. <p> <p>I plan to buy full version (I hope they make some discount).

  This program does all that it claims to and MORE! I love the feature that allows one to ZIP duplicate files rather than just delete them! This feature is not listed in the description but I think it should be - it might have made me start with this demo rather than others which left varying degrees of bad taste in my mouth. Lest one wonder why this feature is useful - For example, I might want to quickly rid a folder of duplicates yet not quite have the time and energy available to examine each one to make sure they are duplicates and that I have no reason to save them - thus this program would let me zip them into one neat, easily moved file to be perused at a later time. <p> <p>This program also found far more duplicates than any other I've tried. I knew I had SOME duplicate photos - this program found *cough* over 4000! And so far, yes, it appears accurate. Apparently I keep on uploading all the photos on a memory card rather than just the most current.... <p> <p>At any rate, yes, I think I will end up buying the registered copy as this seems like a program that needs to be part of my "permanent collection"!

  Cons

  A little cluttery on the interface but I did discover that individual sections can be closed easily and one can pick and choose what window subsections they want to keep open at any given time. Also not terribly thrilled with the price, it seems a bit high for this sort of thing. Yes, it is the one that works but I'm still not 100% convinced that finding my duplicates is worth almost 35 bucks. Close to 100% convinced yes, but if the price were say $20.00, I'd be in process of registering it rather than writing this review!
