For hard-core Net heads, merely having a broadband connection isn't enough. It has to be an optimized connection. Like mechanics tuning an engine, they readjust their system settings until they've squeezed out every last kilobit per second. And how do they know if they've succeeded?

By using a program like DU Meter, a simple but effective utility that provides statistics for Internet connections. In its minimized state, DU Meter displays a tiny window showing a traffic graph and the current upload/download speed. Clicking the system-tray icon provides concise reports on Internet usage on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis. A stopwatch feature lets you measure traffic over a specific period of time.

The program can alert you when traffic exceeds a threshold or the connection gets too slow. DU Meter doesn't take much memory, and it basically just works. It's a good choice for bandwidth fiends, and may also interest users subscribed to tariff plans with traffic limitations.

I am using DU meter since 2012. My experience- an accurate chorometer that will give you information , to help you findout what your service providor is giving you !! and also your overall internet speed ! It is a must software where ISP is unrealable . The interface is excellent specially task bar view !! Try it , you will be never be go without it , when you are using the internet !! Thank you .

Plenty of graphs, tables and charts, separates LAN traffic from Internet traffic.
Cons
Unfortunately the totals are way out. So far this month I have used 15.56 GB and the totals show 0.93 GB.
Summary
Try before you buy! I paid to upgrade from an earlier version and I am not a happy bunny. Hagel say they know about this bug and are working on it. 12 Sep 2015. Win7
Norton AV won't allow installation

Don't know. Not able to install.

Other reviews say it is loaded with Spyware. That may be the reason that Norton will not allow the program to be downloaded. As soon as it downloads, Norton scans and says it has deleted the threat. I'm not sure I should disable my anti-virus to install this product especially if other users say it is not clean. cNet? What's the story here?
Summary
It would be great if the software author or cNet would comment and assure us whether the software is indeed safe and free from spyware. Why would Norton delete the file?

Looks nice. except for the spyware and the unwanted software. Is a cool little tool. I thought it said spyware free. misleading. way over priced.

Too much spyware make my computer act a little weird added new programs with out my permission. fill my browser with advertisiment. keep on opening a little window saying you need buck up or you need to install this or that. Malwarebyte found 155 threats.

Seems to work great. Really enjoy the Win7 taskbar graphs.

Installed spyware! When you launch a IE or Chrome it sends you to to add pages several times regardless of where you try to navigate. Never had any spyware before this was installed. CNET stated this was spyware free...horrible!!!!
