• It's DSV for PHP without the BS.

  Pros

  DSV PHP Editor has a great deal going on with marginal code completion, a quick connect feature for database and a lite embedded testing server with PHP pre-configured. It gets you rolling in no time flat and has enough functionality to keep your interest well past novelty.

  Cons

  The editing space can be a little annoying as it manages insertion using the old school column and row fixed width; simply, anywhere you click in the text editor is where your insertion point/editing cursor appears. The editor should also have a numb-skull editing mode like notepad in addition to the old school editor. Switch between editing modes would help out when commenting as opposed to rapid app dev.

  Summary

  DSV PHP Editor is one of the most feature rich and competent PHP editors/mini IDEs that I have had the pleasure of using. It's focus on PHP for the web developer is clearly evident, but it is designed in a way that anyone novice to the scripting grammar (PHP) will get caught up to speed pretty quickly. It's ready to go out of the box and the no muss setup means a great deal to new-bees programmers. This tool with your favorite development server setup will have you web mastering in no time. Can't say enough good things about DSV -- it has always run for me on Vista 32 bit and Windows 7 64 bit -- it is definitely worth the download. - Quick summary: - SQL Connection manager - Snippets library manager - XHTML editing features - CSS editing features - embedded testing server (no setup, installs with the editor) - PHP installs with the editor and can be upgraded without hassle. - pretty configurable I have Dreamweaver, Expression Web and a JavaScript Editor/PHP IDE and I still do my PHP with DSV; it's troublesome enough to do HTML in the other editors let alone discuss PHP support without headaches and overly complex site setup requirements for testing. It's DSV for PHP without the BS.

  Pros

  It works good, and I like the easy access to MySQL database and visual Query builder as well.

  Cons

  I miss a visual builder, so I could preview the layout of the project.

  Summary

  It is better than a bunch of commercial tools.

• IT FREEZES COMPUTERS, AGAIN!!! >.<

  If I could have actually been able to use it...u.u

  Cons

  Within 15 minutes from installation, it freezes...and freezes the screen, too. v.v

  Summary

  I installed it but, after like 15 minutes, the program and everything else on my screen was freezed; I waited to see if that was temporary, but the problem lasted for at least other 15 minutes. o.o To make everything work again, I had to end the process by force with Windows Task Manager; after that exploit, I immediately uninstalled the program. No way I'm keeping a program who freezes my notebook screen!!

• At first glance a solid looking editor

  Pros

  i needed a php editor with autocomplete and distinct syntax highlighting. ive been using codelobster which i really like but sometimes it slows down for no reason, drives me mad. tried ALMOST ALL other free editors and this one is the best.

• LAPTOP FREEZED!!!

  Poor interface, lack of features; after installing it, my 9-month-old laptop almost freezed - I had to reboot it. x_x

  Summary

  Wanna a reliable PHP editor? Stay away from this one, because it's the opposite. X( The interface is confusing, and the program itself has no features whatsoever. Plus, after I installed it - last April - my laptop (bought in May 2009) kept having problems and ran very slowly and badly...problems who disappeared when I erased the program!!! o.o Definitely not a good program.

  Pros

  Great integration with MySQL and web server. The BEST free PHP IDE.

  Cons

  Some minor interface issues, but no real impact to usability. Add PHPUnit integration with IDE and server - that would be a PLUS!!!

  Summary

  I would buy this. The author should ask for a price. A small and reasonable price would not hurt the overall benefit this tool brings to any PHP developer.

• Great Highlighting editor for PHP

  Pros

  It is easy to use it, the explorer helps you out finding the files you need, and the highlightning is OK

  Cons

  They have to resolve some bugs on saving as, opening and closing several tabs, and the autocompletion writes down as you were using some of the listing showed when your're not

  Summary

  THe software could be better, they need to resolve some bugs, after that, the software would be great

  Pros

  I installed the software and entered the registration code just fine! For what is charged, you get a full blown program that is all it's cracked up to be! This will certainly help my PHP coding go a lot faster AND a lot easier to check as well!

  None after three hours of work with the program!

  it's buggy. i had to try twice to install it and when i did it still gave me errors.

  bottom line they need to work out the bugs, drop the price and try it again :( don't waste your time.

  Pros

  I like many features,for example new MySQL features,auto complete for current page,todo list helps me also.

  Cons

  I suggest to add frameworks support and highlighting of missing opening brackets.
