• Quick learning curve from autocad

  Pros

  Quick learning curve Basic functions work fine (make a circle, rectangle, dimension etc...) haven't tested a lot more than that so far. Does save & open .DXF FREE!

  Cons

  Slow to open, a bit slow to respond on my system (P4 3GHZ) but autocad is similar.

  Summary

  I did some basic functions like make a rectangle, circle, arrays of said circle, dimensions save and re-open files. Fairly straight forward commands but takes a few minutes to find exactly where everything is. Definitely an A+ for a free program, just what I was looking for.<br /><br /><span class='notifyMsg'> Updated </span>on Oct 13, 2015<p/>I also had some issues with units and print setup, it initially took the number of the measurement and didn't care if it was mm or inches - that was using the .dxf format. So if you draw in millimeters but print in inches, or cut &#38; paste to another layout that was in a different unit... it didn't convert so it printed HUGE or tiny depending what way you went with units. Not sure how I fixed it but now using .2CD format files, and it will now print accurate scales with millimeter drawings and inch paper size and convert as it should.

  Pros

  Good number of features. Was easy to register and get activation code. There are tutorials on YouTube, and there is an instruction manual pdf that is ok but not for a beginner.

  Cons

  Extremely hard learning curve except if you have used a similar cad software. The method of adding and editing objects is not at all intuitive and is often cumbersome. No cylinders, or predefined common symbols or shapes.

  Summary

  If your a student you can get a student license from autodesk, but if you need free this will do fine. If you have never used autocad this will be a very hard learning curve.

  If you are familiar with AutoCAD, this will be easy to learn. Can't believe this is free. Surprisingly extensive and complete.

  If people took the time to read they would see that the key is written under the Publisher's Description. Read instructions before you judge. This is the best free software I've ever used. The serial key is DCAK-6746-0366-4350-3180 for people who don't want to take the time. Once installed, you will have to register on their website or else the software will only function for 30 days. I have not receive any spams or phone calls from them so I feel confident they won't annoy you. Once you complete the form, they will give you an activation code. Wish we could delete the worthless reviews. It is FREE.

  Pros

  I was hesitant to download the program because of other reviewers posts. They are obviously not tech savvy at all or have no common sense. Yes, the software does require a license, but just go to the DoubleCad website and download it from them. An email is sent and tada, free awesome program with license and everything you need to get going. As far as the other review about getting a new homepage and search engine, please use your brain. Cnet has their own installer which installs their own add-on junk, which I'm guessing is how they get paid or something for their services. You can opt to not install it if you actually read through the installation process. And as far as the pros... it has all the goodies you would expect from a legit Cad operating system

  Download it and give it a shot. I am astounded that such a program is actually free. And no, I am not affiliated or work for the company. I just get upset when mindless people post bad reviews about products or services that are not deserving. I wish I could review those users about their reviews and see how quick they would be to post stupid stuff.

  I thought it would be difficult to master the basic commands but surprisingly it was simple to grasp

  Navigating from panes and palettes and it has no basic electrical symbols in the library or if it does they aare not in the architectual design

  Loads quickly and looks really nice, good interface.

  could not get it to function at all. Had to shut it down three times with windows app. mgr. Better luck next time.
