  Summary

  Be careful installing and read the fine print. This utility buries itself deep inside Windows and is difficult to remove once it's there. It does not show itself under 'Programs and Features' and hides somewhere in the registry where you can't find it. Furthermore, it comes bundled with adware it will trick you into installing. I am very suspicious of anything that tries this hard to trick and hide itself. It's real intentions are anyone's guess, but it's not likely benign.

  Incredibly user friendly...especially for "non-geeks" like me! Don't let the RTF conversion scare you...rich text formats open without a problem. Also, this converter instantly opens a .DOCX file, and you then have the option to print it, save it, or convert it to a .PDF file! It even converted it to my Mozilla .PDF reader, FOXIT...how cool is THAT?? I consider NativeWinds a GENIUS in the creation of this excellent FREE converter that works faster and more easily than converters that will eventually COST you to use them! GREAT JOB, NATIVEWINDS!!

  I have the AT&T Fuze. Had made some docs on my phone, moved to my pc and there format was docx so laptop could not read them. found this page this morning. hey, it works, its free, thanks.

  can only do one file at a time, i can live with this can not drag and drop

  Simple concept made easy. This program does not even need to be installed on your computer. it just plain WORKS.

  It does exactly what it says. It takes that DOCX file that you would only see working with Microsoft Word 2007, and make an open RTF file format. So if you are using an Open Office program for your word processing, and you receive a DOCX file from a colleague, you don't have to ask them to convert it for you.

  could not convert a simple docx file with simple tables in it. The table contents were scattered about and no tables were in the rtf file

  I had nothing on my Vista SP2 PC that would open my monthly storage rental statements in rtf. THIS DID IT. FAST. EASY. Open this program and double click file and there it is.

  Very small download. Starts quickly. Reads docx files and allows you to save them as rtf. Also reads pdf and html files in a pinch. Free and without advertising!

  You will lose any special formatting contained in the docx file.

  Summary

  This is a great alternative to downloading any Microsoft add on stuff. I tried using an online converter to convert from docx to doc which worked fine, but it took several minutes.
