Editors’ Review
DJ Mixer Professional lets you play music from up to four decks at the same time, features several skin layouts that may have two or four decks, and on the whole feels like it has been built to be used for long periods, being very stable and consuming few resources, allowing you to have a fast and responsive DJ setup.
Pros
Multiple interfaces: DJ Mixer Professional takes advantage of every single pixel on your screen by providing you with several skins optimized for different standard resolutions. The skins do not just give a different look and feel -- they also extend the app's functionality by adding additional decks for you to work with.
Large array of features: Just like you would expect, the professional DJ program comes with numerous options like per-deck cues and brakes, per-deck equalizer, gain controls, scratching, and looping. The music bin can be loaded with regular music files, your iTunes library or playlists, as well as music videos and karaoke tracks.
Resource efficient and stable: Overall, the software proves to be resource-efficient and stable; on average our CPU had a 30 percent load, which jumped to just 50 percent when we stress-tested the app by playing audio from all four decks and recording our session at the same time. We did not experience any errors or crashes while testing the app.
Cons
Pricey: This professional software comes with a professional price tag. On the plus side, you can evaluate the application for 20 minutes, each time you open it; when the trial expires, the software will close, and you'll be taken to the developer's online store to purchase it.
Bottom Line
DJ Mixer Professional is the perfect tool for disk jockeys that perform regularly. Thanks to its advanced features and solid performance, you can rest assured that it won't crash or slow your computer down to the point where it can cause you problems. The only drawback is its premium price tag, especially when there are much cheaper and even free alternatives out there.
