Looking for an Expose emulator to port that cool app-switching feature from the Mac to Windows? DExposE2 is probably about as close as you can get to a direct copy, giving both XP and Vista three choices for jumping between open programs.

Using the F9 key, you'll be able to minimize your apps to fit on the screen, then choose one to bring to the front by hitting Tab or left-clicking your mouse. F10 highlights only the active windows belonging to the application currently running in the foreground. F11 reveals the desktop by shunting all active windows off to the right side of your screen, visible only as a thin and unidentifiable bar.

DExposE2 lets you set up other hot keys or move your mouse to the corner of the screen to activate, and there's also a Windows Taskbar icon you can use to access it's features--but the hot keys are more than adequate. Other customizations include setting a background image, determining the behavior of previously minimized windows, and customizing program labels. Three levels of graphical quality should allow those with less RAM to scale the program to their needs. Although some crashes have been reported, DExposE2 worked flawlessly for us.

It was using some of the shortcut keys I needed for other programs so I decided to uninstall. This resulted in multiple computer errors! 1. error message on startup from then on, 2. My mouse won't stay still. 3. I can't change desktop bg, and more

gives you an idea of what expose is like can group same programs or all of them at the same time can be disabled easily

freezes to often slugish not very useful in real life

While it works on paper, and it looks just like expose, you will find that it takes anywhere from 5 to 6 seconds to load the first time you click it whith 10+ windows open. This is nowhere close to the half a second expose does it in a mac. It's fun for some time as a novelty, but as a piece of software to make your life easier? keep looking. It lacks the performance and agility to actually be useful.

If you like the switching programs visually DExposE2 is a great option. Modeled after Expose in Mac OS X, DExposE2 lets you use the F9, F10, and F11 keys to toggle different views of running programs. F9 minimizes all application windows to fit on your screen. F10 minimizes all windows of a single program to fit on your screen. F11 makes all windows move out of the way to give you access to the desktop. You have several options for activating DExposE2 with hot-keys, mousing to the corner of your screen, or the function keys. There are several more options to configure in the preferences.
