My name is Keith Bunch and I've been in the machining business for over thirteen years. Back in 2001, I started learning G-Code programming. I was literally handed a manual and told to learn it. With software programming as my favorite hobby, I thought it would be easier to learn G-Code programming if I wrote a "small" program to help me visualize what was going on. My first program had minimal features; New, Open, and Save. The data box showed program X and Z coordinates along with the feed rate. At the time there was no zoom. It couldn't even do arcs and the X axis was twice the distance it should've been. By version 4, the drawn image included arcs and could be zoomed. This is also the version that started the current view and feel that you see today. Other options included line styles, fonts, text highlighting, search function, etc. The data box showed more info also; G-Code, X and Z axis, radius, feed rate, tool, and a brief explaination of the G-Code that is used.
