DermAid patients or referring medical providers upload photos, answer a few questions, and submit. Its that easy! Receive an assessment and plan from a volunteer, board certified, dermatologist within two business days. (Consult availability is limited and varies by state and number of active volunteers. If aid consults are not available in your region, visit AAD.org to find a board certified dermatologist nearest to you) The WhyThroughout the world, there is a relative shortage of specialty trained physicians practicing dermatology. Many patients with skin cancer or skin disease go undiagnosed, go untreated or wait months to see a doctor.The HowIn 2012, a team of U.S. dermatologists and expert computer engineers created the DermAid Foundation to help improve access to dermatological expertise. When confronted with a health problem involving the skin, hair or nails, patients or health providers may choose to use our innovative electronic dermatologist consultation app -- the "virtual appointment".
