Block annoying advertisements while surfing the Web via Internet Explorer.
Del Ad is a fast and efficient adblocker for Internet Explorer. With Del Ad, all advertisement will be removed automatically from the websites you browse, and it allows you to enjoy the web without annoying ads. Various settings allow you to customize the Del Ad addon to your personal preferences. Made for all current versions of Microsoft Internet Explorer. Surf the web faster and safer. Blocks ads before they are downloaded. Always up-to-date with automatic software and filter updates.
Blocks ads everywhere -- including ads in YouTube videos which tpl files are useless against -- AND it works for Metro IE as well. Most people think ads in Metro IE cannot be blocked (except for very limited tpl lists) but this works! It's not free but it's not that much either and is well worth it!
fyi -- I don't know what the other reviewer downloaded, but he's either retarded or has an axe to grind -- there was ZERO crapware when I installed this.
And buddy, for the future, CHECK the custom options when installing ANYTHING! Even the highly respected CCleaner will sneak in Chrome AND the Google toolbar if you're not paying attention.
Cons
None at all. Works beautifully.
Summary
Beware the junkware
comunsenti2
Pros
None, I de-installed on principle because if it downloads this much junk, I don't want it near my computer
Cons
Changes your search engine by downloading another one, also some TV station, and several other programmes. I had to go through and remove all of them, as well as the program itself.
Summary
Do not trust this thing with access to your PC! It changes your settings without warning and downloads crap onto your computer unless you (somehow) locate the smallprint and disable it up front.
Good, but not perfect
jdjdler
Pros
- Works with Windows 8
- Does its job
Cons
- Not free
Summary
I own a Surface Pro, and all other software I tried does not work at all with Windows 8, so there is no alternative to Adblcok IE. While this software is not perfect (if you want to change settings, you need to open the desktop browser, otherwise I would give 5 stars), it does its job well and it has never crashed. Definitely worth the $20.
Works great
DanP1122
Pros
Works as good as Adblock Plus for Firefox
Best adblocker for IE
Cons
None so far
Summary
I had installed version 2 for almost 2 weeks now and just received the update to version 3. Based on my experience, Adblock IE is on par with Adblock Plus for Firefox, which was the only reason I used Firefox to begin with.
BTW, this software does not install crapware or the like - but the CNET installer does, which is started if you click the download button on this page! You need to click on the 'Direct Download Link' below the download button for the original installer.
Multiple levels of crapware!!
Pros
Seems to function as well in IE as Adblock Plus in Firefox
Cons
Difficult installation:
1) Even after un-checking the crapware box in selective install to avoid installing some security SW (don't remember what it was), it started a RealPlayer installation that I had to cancel. Time will tell if there's something more that I missed, but so far, so good.
2) By default, IE disables 3rd-party extensions. You have to go into advanced settings to enable them.
3)Even after that, it required a full system re-boot.
Summary
Final opinion still pending. We'll see how it goes during the evaluation period before paying for the full version.

Updated on Jul 14, 2013
Verrrry interesting...I don't know if it's a bug or an intentional feature, but I had to disable this program on CNET before I could post my review.
works well so far
eric7357
Pros
worked 100% when installed no issues
Cons
really have to watch for the crapware box checks, but that's marketing 101.
Summary
Works but slows down IE
ppridday
Pros
Blocks the ads that were annoying me in Yahoo.
Cons
Seems to slow down page loading somewhat. I suppose this is to be expected.
Summary
May uninstall after the annoying ads are changed on Yahoo. I don't know how they picked me for these in adchoice...
As far as the toolbars, browser changes etc., you just have to be careful when installing and uncheck the options.
Not very effective
mldavis086
Pros
Does block some ads
Cons
I still get lots of ads. Be careful not to install the toolbar, or switch search engines, and all the other non-sense that comes a long with it.
Summary
Doesn't seem worth the install to me. I got the new Windows 8 so I was trying to give IE10 a chance. I think I will just switch back to Google Chrome.
Excellent ad blocker for IE!
Jakobjkraft
Pros
Needs no configuration, blocks everything including adverts inside YouTube videos
Cons
None so far.
Summary
This DOESN'T change your search engine and I don't see any added toolbar in my IE10, only the 'enabled' indicator in the address bar. The other reviewer is either confused or did something very wrong.
Warning to install this
