Conquer the Caribbean and strike terror in the hearts of your enemies as a pirate.

Loot and extort your way to infamy in the seedy world of the 17th-century Caribbean. Strike terror in the hearts of your victims: board ships, ransom hostages, and sack towns (see screen shot). The only rules are the ones you make. Cutthroats: Terror on the High Seas makes you the captain of a ship bristling with cannons. Seek a Letter of Marquee and fight for king and country as a privateer, or become a ruthless pirate. Either way, remember to ply your crew with rum and treasure or face a mutiny. Will you survive to retire as a pirate king? Or will you dance the hempen jig on Gallows Rock?

Cutthroats features customization of your fleet and armies as you prepare to fight on land and sea, and 6,000,000 miles of oceans and land to terrorize, with over 70 ports to sack and pillage. Prey on hundreds of intelligent nonplayer ships, each with a different role in the world, including trading, convoy protection, and the dreaded pirate hunters.

This Game may lack in many areas for some people, they are quick to bash it too often, while there are a few bugs and an occasional Mysterious CTDT(crash to desktop) the Economic modeling of the game is excellent and you can shape parts of the Game with your Actions, There are no set rules, 'cept, Stay Alive and don't let the Hunters Catch you, The Game can Consume Many Hours of time, it does not move Fast, But Rome was not Built in a day either. Give it a try, the lads at Hothouse done some great work on this game, it deserves the Attention, but with Less Bashing.

I wasted 12 hours downloading "Cutthroats" only to be disappointed during the file extraction process. When the files were nearly all extracted I received a message which read:FILE ERROR 13. I then uninstalled the files from my system and wasted ANOTHER 13 hours downloading the game a second time. Guess what? I got the same reply-FILE ERROR 13. I am sure the game would be a lot of fun to play otherwise I would not have tied up my telephone line a total of 25 hours. I will purchase the game from Compusa instead.
