Editors' Review
We like puppies, and we were prepared to release our inner 12-year-old girl upon downloading Cute Puppy Clock. Unfortunately, though, our plans to squeal and giggle fell flat. Although the program is in fact a clock that involves cute puppies, it has drawbacks that make it hard to recommend, even for puppy-lovers.
There's really not much to Cute Puppy Clock, which is part of the problem. It's a couple of inches tall and features a puppy standing on what looks like a wooden crate. The time is displayed on the crate, 24-hour style, in a goofy font that's hard to read. There are 11 puppies to choose from, and they are suitably cute; we had no complaints about them. Users can adjust the program's transparency and select whether or not it will run at startup, but that's about it as far as features go.
The fact that we couldn't set the clock to 12-hour time or display the time in a font that's readable at a glance pretty much eliminated its usefulness, despite the cuteness of thee puppies. If you're really into puppies, we suppose that Cute Puppy Clock is worth checking out, but most users will likely find it to be a waste of time.
Cute Puppy Clock installs a desktop icon without asking and leaves a Start menu icon behind upon removal.
