Creating theater-styled sounds is the advertising hook for this player, but it hardly lives up to its promise. Instead it operates more as a traditional music player and includes some unnecessary features. It gets off to a good start as the installation flies by and ends with the optional automatic launch. The main window features a list of files and you can sort WAV or MP3 formatted files in whatever queue you want. However, the editing features are limited and work primarily with volume and fading. Cue Player features two demonstration samples, but they are hardly related to music played in theaters. Surprisingly, the clock on the main window of the program shows the current time. This program does not live up to any standards, is quite average, and ultimately offers nothing special.

Took me about 10 minutes to figure out how to insert my own tracks with out getting errors. The only thing i see that it needs is a simple manual that explains in detail how to delete the sample tracks and insert your own. what i did was delete the sample tracks that came with it,then click on the file button at the top left corner of the cue player and chose new cue file then clicked on sample cue. then clicked on the insert menu and chose the sound file i wanted.above that where it says cue/action i typed the name of the sound track then go down to the bottom where the sliders are and set the two sliders on the right up to 50% and left the right side sliders on 0%. In the middle right between the four sliders it says..fade time...set this to 10. Then click on test,itworked like i wanted it to so then clicked on save. you have to repeat these steps for each sound track,but once it is set up it works great. it only needs these directions for those who may have problems figuring out how to set it up,i myself was totally lost to start with and was about to just delete it but a little patience and playing around i figured it out and works really Good.

Summary
Cue player has proved very usefull for a small community theater. The only downside is that the volume slider in the program changes the master volume on the PC and effects other programs such as WinAmp that may be playing background sounds. It has been easy to show new techies how to run the shows after they have been designed.
Over all a decent program.

Cue Player is designed to be used by theater-sound people to play sound effects. With the availability of CDs with thousands of effects and the computer's ability to record sounds on its own, it's possible to have all the sounds for the show, including entry and exit background music, resident on a PC. Cue Player can organize those files, associate them with their cue lines, adjust volumes, and show running or remaining cue durations. Cues can be replayed or skipped over--difficult on a tape system. Sounds can be either in WAV or MP3 format.
