This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.<br />I've used this product the last two weekends to make one manual puzzle (I supplied the words, clues, and solution) and to make several puzzles that CWE constructed automatically using my own word lists and/or its built-in dictionaries. Using the program to make the puzzles saved me hours of tedium. Printing a paper version of each puzzle was trivially easy using the defaults. But I decided to use the custom print feature to get a layout I preferred. For one puzzle, I used CWE to make an interactive web-based version. With a little tweaking of the HTML page, I was able to customize the look. I've gotten great email-based technical support. I purchased 7.0b (Lite license) a day or two after it came out and reported a minor printing bug. The developer fixed it the same day and released version 7.0c. Probably because it's cross-platform, some things about the user interface are not totally Mac-like. But it's close enough and is certainly easy enough to use. Now the hard part is thinking up new puzzles to create.
