Find out RGB or the HTML hex code of a particular color on a Web site.
Do you ever see a nice color used on a Web site, picture, graphic, application, and want to know the RGB or the HTML hex code of that color? Color Detector allows you to find out just that. Simply point the mouse cursor anywhere on the screen, and the application will tell you: the RGB code, the HTML hex code, and the name of the color in plain English, of the pixel where the mouse is pointing. It can also copy the HTML hex code to the clipboard.
Lightweight, easy to use, shows both RGB and hex values, can get down to pixel accuracy.
Cons
None come to mind. It's got one, simple purpose and it does that well.
Summary
Great application!

Pros
Does what it says. Simple to use.
Cons
To copy the hex color code to the clipboard the Color Detector application must have focus, hence make sure you first switch back to the Colour Detector application (e.g. by clicking its title bar) before positioning the mouse and hitting F6.

Pros

Cons
Summary
It's not that it's a bad app, it's just worthless for ME.
FlappingCrane
Pros
I didn't install it, so I didn't use it. I'm sure it's very easy to use, but I don't want to install a program on my computer. If you're not going to be jumping from one computer to another, then I encourage you to give this program a try.
Cons
I have to install it to use it? No, thanks. I don't need another program listed in my Add/Remove list. I don't need another Program Group listed in my Start menu. I don't need more DLL files tossed into my system folder.<p>I just need a single file I can drop on my flash drive and run from any computer without having to install anything. If that's what you're looking for, do not download Color Detector.
Summary
Very useful, easy to use, simple, and small
