Catalog your CD collection automatically. No typing needed, just insert a CD in your CD-ROM drive, type its barcode or type artist and title to download all data from various sources on the internet (like freedb and Amazon), including artist, title, track titles and the cover image. Browse your collection by artist, title, year, etc... or use the Thumbnail View to view your cover images.
with a handheld scanner (separate cost) it is easy to add your CD's into your Library
Cons
old CD's are not in the Libraries available. All info wanted has to be keyed-in by hand.
Can be very time consuming. Separate Costs involved for updates.

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.<br />Whereas this may not appeal to people who are averse to a bit of typing and data entry, for the most part this is a successful port of the Windows version. Entering CDs via freedb.com, the various Amazons, your own disc drive and even barcodes is the most fully realised aspect of the database. But when it comes to LPs and Tapes and the more obscure sections of your record collection, you'll find yourself left to your own devices.
I'm using the 05/2006 version 1.0.3 now and it's too early to say how well it performs. The earlier version 1.0.2 with which I added most of my data was sadly a bit buggy and subjected me to frequent crashes until I'd thought out some workarounds. The upside of the crashes was that you only lost the data on the single item on which you were working, since the database saves everything else all of the time and maintains an automated backup.
It's available in a couple of flavours: the full Pro version holds back several Data Export and Print options, but the standard release should be more than sufficient for most users.
