Does one thing - does it well
gharcourt- Pros
- So easy to use. Returns date and location of build. That is it.
- Cons
- None that I am aware of
- Summary
- If you want to know when and where your machine was made then this simple application is for you. It has a Custom entry so you can input a serial number and get the same info for a machine that may not be at hand or have this ditty installed.
A cool utility!
sievekings- Pros
- Give this utility a Mac serial number and with a click of the mouse you have where it was built and in what week.
- Cons
- Some serial numbers just don't work. I have some old and some modified machines, so it may not entirely be the fault of the software.
- Summary
- Great for identifing when a machine was built. I have 20 odd machines from Beige and Tangerine G3s to new MacBook Pros. It works on most them. The others it is probably my machines and not the fault of the software. Well worth the download and install.
Nice app

- Summary
- This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
I like the program. It doesn't have to be a PageMaker application to be cool. I really enjoy it. However, version 1.1 correctly identified my PowerBook but version 2 doesn't. It tells me the range of being built but not where. If I give my serial number it tells me the same thing. Last, Version Tracker tells me I have v1.1 and I need to download v2. I run the program and it tells me I'm running v2 so somthing is a-miss somewhere.
Does not work with PM G5 2,5 GHz dual (water cooled)

Needs some huge improvement!!!

- This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
Well it gave me info about my Mac but nothing more then what MacTracker can provide in more detail or just looking at the serial plate on the back of your mac. Simple application needs some huge improvement.
