  It is not allowed in the Apple App store, but other of the same publisher's products are. The other products work okay, so you trust this product, so...

  You install it and it wrecks your software.

  Summary

  Apple won't let certain programs in their app store. It turns out, that's for a reason. Also, if you look up Apple Support, they will tell you not to use any clean up programs on your Mac.

  Pros

  like its simplicity, it does what it claims 100%, scans fast. I have tried several other similar apps, but CMM have found useless files even after other cleaners said they were removed.

  Pros

  I use this regularly, and never had a problem with any OS (now El Cap). In addition to cleaning out useless stuff, it uninstalls very well. I'm sure I've cleaned out many, many GBs.

  Generally this is a good cleaner and I use it frequently, especially to recover disk space used by the thousands of photos that I crop or modify each month.

  Cons

  Despite MacPaw's advertising claims (ie "CleanMyMac 3 is fully compatible with the latest OS X 10.11 El Capitan"), CleanMyMac does not remove hidden copies of files edited in Apple's Photos application, which replaces iPhoto. "The new Photos app introduced [a] new library format. We're working on an update," MacPaw's customer support team told me on 13 November, but who knows when that will be?

  Wait for the update before purchasing CleanMyMac.

  My heart goes out to all the unsuspecting users that lost their critical emails and other files. This used to be a good application. Now, thanks to a deceptive business (lcensing) scheme and dreadful new features, it is an awful product. CNET, please reconsider your 4-mouse rating. IMHO, it deserves no more than 1 star.

  Pros

  As with any software, if you set up the preferences as you wish, then you should have no problems. If you don't, bad things may happen as some endusers have noted. Even though I use "Automatic Cleanup", I select only System Cleanup, iPhoto Cleanup, and Trash Cleanup. I also use the Uninstall feature. That's all I want and need to do. I've used CleanMyMac since the beginning and never had a problem with this software.

  Its a ripoff marketing scam. They tell you its free, but when you ask to cleanup the things the program found you are asked to subscribe. Then it is a nuisance to uninstall it. Avoid
