Apimac Clean Text is a tool dedicated to webmasters, graphic designers and magazine editors to reduce text cleanup time. Clean Text eliminates all text formatting and performs other useful functions, such as removing empty lines, removing unwanted spaces, removing tab characters, converting smart quotes, tabs, returns, and more. It's a must when you have to paste some text copied from one document or application into another, and you want the text to get the attributes (such as color, font, dimension and style) of the new document instead of preserving the attributes copied from the old one. What's more, the brand new Quick Clean action let you solve with a single click the most common cleaning problems of text found in email messages, documents and web pages.
Slightly odd feel, processor intensive, but it works

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.<br />Basic text selection and manipulation in this app has an odd feel: sometimes you can't see where your cursor is, selecting text can difficult - the cursor acts unexpectedly. You can't do standard text manipulation like triple-click to select a paragraph.
It makes my dual 2.5 G5 run hot - the fans blow, the processors are at 50-70%. I look in activity monitor and it's cranking. Not a big deal, but I think this app has some maturing.
But - it works for what I need! :)

This and InDesign CS are my constant digital companions. Oh, their customer service rocks, too. I just got an email today announcing this upgrade, with a link for downloading and a new Serial Number. How cool is that?

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.<br />GadgetLover, I have both TextSpresso and Clean Text. I have not compared the features side by side, and it has been a while since I used TextSpressoâ?¢ 2.2, mostly because it displays very poorly on my computer and it's very hard to read the commands in the palettes. On OS 9 it was not a problem, but it has been a problem when using OS X, which I use most of the time.
Both are great programs, and if I remember correctly TextSpressoâ?¢ 2.2 seems to have more features. I do not use most of those features, so Clean Text is the program I use the most. I have had both programs for years now, and for my uses -removing tabs, returns, or ">>>"- I always come back to Clean Text.
