This no-frills clock utility is designed to count down or up from a specified time, but the meager output isn't justified by the complexity of setting up the program. ChronoTime's simple interface doesn't provide enough guidance for using the program without a trip to the Help file. A file header menu allows you to send the program to the system tray, access Options and the Help file, and choose the timer mode. The program only works in one of two ways, to count down using the Timer or count up using Chrono. The Help file instructs you to type the desired time directly into the display, but this method failed to work in testing. Hot keys let you stop, start, or reset timers but, without being able to enter your own time, this app offers few, if any, benefits for any user. This faulty application is easily outclassed by other timers. Users, especially novices, should look elsewhere for a more user-friendly and functional program.
