  One of the few free Xiangqi games out there....

  Played this for the first time on the default settings. The computer destroyed me. So I set it to the easiest mode: "Peabrain." The computer destroyed me again. So I set the computer handicap to give up 9 pieces. I still get destroyed every single time.

  Summary

  I'm not an idiot when it comes to gaming.... I've been playing games, both in the real world and on computers, for a good 25 years. I know how to play Xiangqi. Granted, I'm still a beginner, but I know the rules and have a grasp of the basic strategies. However, this game is bordering on impossibly hard, even on the easiest available settings. I don't know what they were thinking when they programmed the AI for this, but it is completely out of whack. If you're just getting into Chinese Chess, this is not a good beginner's tool. It will just frustrate you immediately and crush any love or interest you have for the game. I would recommend just getting a real Xiangqi set (cheap ones are $5 on ebay), grabbing a friend and a pot of tea, and playing in the real world. It will be much more enjoyable.
