This application quickly hides windows, applications, and even your desktop, though you'll need to have Windows .NET Framework 2 for it to work. Curtain is a no-install program. Just run the executable file and you'll find an icon in your system tray. A right-click menu offers one way to hide windows and applications, and you can also turn off the monitor and initiate the screensaver. Choose Customize Hotkeys to view or modify hot keys for a host of actions, including applying transparency or hiding or showing windows. In our testing, the hot-key options were the quickest method, but Curtain worked quickly and effectively using the system-tray icon as well. Privacy-conscious users will appreciate what this easy-to-use and effective freeware application has to offer.

Combined with various other window modification options like transparencies, always on top, etc, Curtain is the must have utility for any desktop where privacy, organization, and productivity matters. All features are exposed via customizable keyboard shortcuts to give you easy access to total window control. Give it a try. It's perfect for all those times people walk into your office and you don't want them to see what's on your screen, you're working on something and have to go to a meeting but don't want to close anything, or you just want to tuck something away till later to clean up your taskbar.
