  Pros

  I used this software about 10 years (since Windows 98). Amazing, great! Lots of needed functionality in a small light program. I cannot be calm if my computer do not "cookoo-cookoo" every hour :)

  Unfortunately main diplay do not work on 64-bit version of win XP :(

  Yes, today almost all features of Chameleon Clock are build in Windows 7, but... IT guys all over the world still using XP :) Thanks to the Author!

• Buggy on 64-bit Windows Vista

  Unstable and behaves poorly under 64-bit Windows Vista SP2. Consumes up to 25% of CPU cycles for no reason, slows other applications down. Poor email-only tech support, program apparently neither updated nor supported anymore.

  Summary

  I've bought and been a registered user of Chameleon Clock for many years, and it's been a great little desktop clock. I have the latest version, v5.1. When I moved to 64-bit Vista SP2, the clock became unstable and buggy. While running other programs (IE8, Photoshop, etc.) I began to notice my PC becoming slower and slow, almost coming to a standstill. Windows Task Manager told me there was a process, ChamClock.exe, running that was taking 19K memory and consuming 20-25% of CPU cycles! This was totally unexpected, since the clock was essentially doing nothing (no updating, etc.). I then tracked what was happening with memory. When Chameleon Clock first loads at PC startup, it consumes about 5K of memory. If you access and start adjusting the various options in the main dialog, the memory usage starts climbing. I got it to go to about 10K. However, the CPU usage does not go up at this point. As I started to use other programs, at some point the memory usage shot up to about 19K and CPU usage exploded. It looks like there is a memory leak, and some nasty interaction with other applications. Besides the performance hit, what concerns me is that something is happening on my PC that is taking 25% of the CPU cycles, and I have no clue what it is. Could it be a botnet? Tech support is not very responsive, and only through email - even though I purchased the program. Sadly, after many years, I'll have to uninstall Chameleon Clock and look for something else. I would appreciate any suggestions for a better supported and more compatible desktop clock.

  Pros

  This program replaces Windows systray clock, allows you to customise the display, synchronise the time via the internet, set reminders and much, much more.

  Cons

  Most of the fonts to replace the standard clock are quite juvenile, the program has become very buggy; freezing completely particularly when an alarm is due (it seems). There is no support forum, only support via e-mail (e.g. uninstall - reinstall)

  Summary

  Under Windows 98 we ran Corel Reminders which unfortunately doesn't work under XP, so we looked for something else and found Chameleon Clock. This is a nice little program when it works, but is unfortunately let down by poor customer support. I'm now searching for an alternative again. I expect better customer support from a paid-up customer.

  THE ONLY PROBLEM I FOUND WAS THE STABILITY. MY COMPUTER DID NOT EXCEPT IT STRAIGHT AWAY . BUT I DID OVER COME THIS PROBLEM

  Pros

  I have used Chameleon Clock for many years and can't imagine a computer without it. Just to have an accurate clock which automatically adjusts to a signal from the Atomic Clock server of your choosing is reason enough to own it. Add the features of a full monthly calendar when you roll your cursor over the clock, to numerous alarms, stopwatch, and pop-up reminders plus incredible skins and time keeping wallpapers, and you have a program you will not want to ever be without.

  I like this software because of the calendar - I often need a year or 2 years ahead and I like being able to put the date/day on my task bar.
