kept popping up when not wanted
duddly- Pros
- kept the system clock updated
- Cons
- installed other hidden software that caused excessive and nusance popups
- Summary
- be warned
Fine as a synchronizer, terrible as a program
M0rtiferrimus- Pros
- Great for synchronizing my computer's clock with lots of atomic clocks worldwide. I have added many time servers and it seems to work pretty well.
- Cons
- I am close to removing the program because of the annoying popups. I would be fine if it was just a local popup, but after clicking ok when it says to upgrade to the pro version, which is really $9, it automatically opens the company's webpage over whatever I'm working on.
- Summary
- NAGWARE. I am seriously considering finding other software to do the job of synchronization. Popups appear every hour and a half or so, but I will not give them any money because it was advertised as FREE. If they were honest I'd consider it, but now I will definitely not buy their pro version. Also wish I'd read the reviews before downloading.
Works as advertized but nagware
mrichman- Pros
- My clock drifts several seconds per hour. This program resets it to the correct time by averaging several atomic clock servers. Since each server can vary by + or - a few tenths of a second, the averaging seems to be a safer method to synchronize.
- Cons
- Pop up window telling you to buy the pro version is annoying and does not go away. Must be run from administrator account, a pain for those who shut down their systems often.
- Summary
- Save yourself the annoyance of the pop up window and get the pro version of chronos or use other software to synchronize your clock.
NOT Freeware
blagophalcon- Pros
- It does what I need, stays in the tray, starts with windows, can sync up to intervals of 30 seconds with multiple time servers. This could be THE ATOMIC SYNC of all. Really SAD.
- Cons
- I used this one to sync the time of my signage network and it ended up with a pop-up message all over the network offering to buy da PRO version. Unsinstalled immediately. What a shame.
- Summary
PAID "PRO" VERSION HAS A NAGGING POP-UP WINDOW
melodibarok- Pros
- Works well and it is fast.
- Cons
- For a few months I tried the free version of Chronos Atomic Clock Syncronizer. In the pop-up window, I frequently got a notice saying that "if you buy the PRO version, you will not see this pop up screen". Later I paid and bought the PRO version. Unfortunately nothing has changed; The NAGGING POP UP WINDOW APPEARS ABOUT 3 TIMES A DAY. And this PRO version is the earlier 4.6.5 and it writes "v 4.6.5 PRO" (not 4.6.7 which is the current free version) I wrote to Chronos MANY TIMES about this problem, but CHRONOS NEVER REPLIED. This a shame for CHRONOS ATOMIC CLOCK SYNCRONIZER. They only got my money for nothing.
- Summary
- DO NOT PAY FOR THE "PRO" VERSION OF ATOMIC CLOCK SYNCRONIZER BECAUSE WHAT YOU GET AFTER PAYING IS THE EARLIER VERSION WITH A FREQUENT NAGGING POP-UP WINDOW, AND YOU NEVER GET ANY REPLIES FROM THE CUSTOMER SERVICE.
Works well.
Adam A. Wanderer- Pros
- Fairly simple to use.
- Cons
- Very hard to add servers to original list.
- Summary
- Well worth having, does what it advertises.
I removed it from my computer.
lazarus007- Pros
- There were NO pros!
- Cons
- The company kept asking me to go to the paid version daily. I got tired of even trying to use the product.
- Summary
- The company sucks. To me it and the product rate less than zero! I will not download anything this company offers in the future.
The Program is Free But with Frequent Pop-ups
wwgorman- Pros
- Dose set the time as intended.
- Cons
- Gives a pop-up frequently to remind you to up grade to a purchased version. . Checked it with Atom Time 98 an old program I had for use with dial up. Switched back to Atom Time 98.
- Summary
- Advertised as "free" and is but with frequent pop-up to buy purchased version. In my opinion not a truly "Free" program.
Works, but...
dgodbey- Pros
- Quietly adjusts the system clock. Since it uses multiple time sources, accuracy is guaranteed.
- Cons
- Nag dialog box appears several time a day and launches your web browser rather than clearing the dialog.
- Summary
- The free version does the job, but nagging for purchase gets in the way
this program is nagware
pintoj- Pros
- accurate clock
- Cons
- nagware popups
- Summary
- The description of this product makes it seem like it is totally free but in reality it pops up its web page every couple of hours asking you to buy their full featured version. This should be marked as nagware!
