I'll give it a 5th star when it can get me back from <b>Polaris</b> to <b>Earth</b>.

My only problem is that I can't get Celestia to hold permissions to allow my students to open it in a managed account under Panther. System Preferences-Accounts-Limitations-Some Limits Once that is fixed, this is going to be on every workstation in our school. Thanks again for an awesome application

Even the basic beginner version of Starry Night ($29.95) that ran on OS 9 had this in a copy I bought over three years ago, and a lot more "off Earth" planetarium features not in this app. Glad to see this sophistication in a free Planetarium app, but lets be honest in the description declaration.

Sure, it lacks some features, but even at this alpha stage you can spend hours and hours exploring its possibilities. Amazing graphics, amazing educational value... an amazing adventure. Keep up the great work and if you can, allow users to customize their keyboard controls. My keyboard for example doesn't have an "End" key, although Keyboard Maestro solved the problem (as usual). Also, thanks for making it freeware!!
