- This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.<br />This is among the "best $10 I ever spent" products I've encountered. I agree, the difference is subtle, but I've noticed a lot less ache when I listen with headphones. Although I have VolumeLogic and iWow for iTunes, I tend these days to use the free Cog as my main music player. I did not like that I had lost that "expanded" sound. With Canz3D, coupled with AudioHijack Pro (no problems with it), I've found a sound quality that I actually prefer to iTunes and its plug-ins.
Very nice job- $10 buys a lot of listening...

There is a warning in the documentation about possible problems with Audio Hijack Pro, but works fine on my 1GHz iBook G4. (Note to blessing: Either Audio Hijack or the freeware "Jack" may give you the iTunes functionality you seek.) The difference doesn't hit you on the head, but is noticeable. I tried a demo version of a product claimed to do similar things. I won't name them but they were on a recent MacAddict monthly CD. I listened for 60 seconds and then uninstalled it (HORRIBLE). It sounded like I was listening to speakers- that were IN THEIR CARTONS. Glad to report Canz3D is MUCH BETTER and sounds GREAT on good recordings. Some recordings may be better with it switched out, but what the hey. And the customize options are impressive- you can "construct" whatever size "room" you want, with almost any acoustic "profile". This is far beyond what analog crossfeed can do.
