Neat program - would be better if fully functional

Does a good job of capturing video either on a timed interval basis or on a motion detaction basis
Cons
Can NOT get the "Bells & Whistles" (FTP, E-mail notification) to work reliably AT ALL. Tech support is virtually non-existent
Summary
Have been using Campanel for several years as a very good video capture and recording system. Works well with most video input devices, etc. Recently decided to try and utilized the "Alarm" features and have been unable to get them to function for more than 10-ish minutes after initializing the program. Have tried communicating with the developer(s) and have largely been ignored. Would really like to see the problems I have been experiencing resolved, but given the "no response" nature of their support, am beginning to doubt that that will be the case.
Worth a try but not a buy.

Summary
It locked up the first time I ran it and I had to adjust Windows hardware settings to use more than one camera - definitely not for novices. At first, the layout is very tech-y and impressive. But the more you try to use it, the more annoying it gets because the various settings are in different menus accessed from about five different locations. A more central and better organized menu system would be great. It asks for your password to do EVERYTHING but luckily there is a "Don't ask for password" check box for each action. However, after closing and re-opening the program, it resumes asking for the password regardless of the previous setting. Could be the trial or could be a bug. Also, you apparently have to use some sort of built-in viewer (which I couldn't get to work) to see the surveillance images since they are collectively saved in a single *.image file. This program includes some features not found on similar programs but goes a little overboard and ends up too complex for your average user. The only way I'd continue fighting with this is if it was free. As it is, after your 10 minutes are up, a reminder message pops up every few seconds making it impossible to do anything, including evaluating it. Based on my brief experience with this program, I definitely won't be buying it.
