Broadcast any streaming audio from your PC with BroadWave by NCH Software. Broadcast live audio or create a podcast. Broadcast Pre-recorded audio or stream audio recordings that are in wav, mp3, wma, aiff and many other formats. Listeners do not need to install any special software to listen to a BroadWave webcast. BroadWave handles the complex audio stream compression, bandwidth adjustments, and serving over the internet to play from the default web browser on any modern Windows or Mac computer. BroadWave Streaming Audio Features: Plays automatically in almost all popular browsers including Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari. Up to 8 different live audio streams can be served from the single PC by installing additional sound devices (eg. USB sound). Unlimited number of 'static' recordings can be served. Super efficient and optimized server design means that, if you have the bandwidth, up to 500 simultaneous connections can be served on one PC. Automatically downsamples audio for lower bitrate listens on slow dial-up connections. Static recordings can be loaded in a number of formats including wav, mp3, aiff, au, wma, aac and over 20 other formats.

It's not free. I have the required links to their sites on my web page but they will not provide the code. In addition, it spams my streaming computer with the "buy it now" links each time the computer is rebooted, even though I'm not running the streaming software. I'm hoping I can find somewhere to effectively complain of their misleading advertisement.
Summary
I wouldn't buy this if hell froze over. They will NOT respond to e-mails and questions about the "FREE" issue.

Don't know. I want it off my PC.
Cons
Keeps popping up in unexpected places. Uninstall worked for a while, then it magically appeared again. Unintalled again and cleared out of startup. Rebooted, and then it showed up again after a while.
Summary
It's OUR computers, not Broadwave's. If you don't want go give up control over your PC don't install it.

Pros
Very stable, easy to use. I have been using it to broadcast my online scanner for sometime now.
Cons
May not have some of the features other more expensive platforms have but it is very good for the price. Customer support is great.
Summary
I think of this software more as a utility. It does a great job of getting audio out onto the net. Keeping this in mind if you are wanting to put together an online radio station you may want more flexibility with the music library. I personally have not used this side of it much going more for live audio feeds (scanners, radios).

It does all the work for you, in audio files mode it streams, manually created playlists with ease and even has a loop feature for constant play. Plus one nice feature is the ability to start on contact by a listener
Cons
It would be 6 stars if it had one feature.....the ability to rearrange the audio files in a more random order without going thru the trouble of always having a playlist

Cons
have to pick between pre-recorded or live, sometimes scratchy, not much features, have to purchase support, banner ad in Win. Media player
Summary
It was easy to use, but eventually I got tired of it... it will make you want to pay about 300$ for SAM Broadcaster ; ) But nice feature for first-time broadcasters that don't want to pay to broadcast!

Installed and had a bunch of windows pop up on the screen. Closed them, went to programs. What I found there was a bunch of links (about 30) to different programs, including telephony services. There was no warning or option to opt out from the installation. Removing the software (using Add or Remove Programs) removed only the core software leaving the rest of that garbage behind and had to be deleted manually.
