• Not a bad programmers editor but not as good as the Zeus.

  After reading the hype I took Boxer for a test drive. All in all it is not a bad editor, but I would say Zeus is still a much better programmers editor. I am sticking with Zeus.

  I've tried a number of text editors--Ultra Edit, Text Pad, Notespad, etc. etc. etc. Boxer is far and away my favorite. It's got lots of features, is easy to use, very stable, and does a better job of manipulating text than any other editor I know. I'd rank UltraEdit second. I ran into problems with almost all the others, but not Boxer. It's terrific!

  This appears to be great software, and so I thought, until i edited my explorer.exe file. It totally messed it up. On top of that, there is the 30-day trial. I would not reccomend this to anyone.

  Advertised 2 gig file limit, but on opening a 300 meg file, it became extremely slow.

  Obviously if you are serious about text editing you wouldn't use anything except EMACS. (For example, why would you care about macros except that the EMACS community has many THOUSANDS of macros already written that you can download.) But for everyone else, Boxer and UltraEdit are the best there is (honorable mention to TextPad).
