• Much Better than Free Antiviruses I've had

  Pros

  Unlike the other virus software I have used, this does not let viruses download onto your computer. It uses prevention system instead of cure. Using a cure system is useless if you end up with the situation I had above i.e.. the cure had not yet been put into the virus definitions when I was hit by the virus. I have not noticed any system slowdown, thus it appears to be extremely resource light.

  I read the review on Cnet/download.com of someone bemoaning how bad Bluepoint Antivirus is and then going on to say that many other antivirus software programs are better. Of the programs he mentioned that were better - they stated Avira. This compelled me to write this review as from my experience Avira, is far, far worse than Bluepoint Security. I run a business on my PC and was using Avira antivirus. I was also something of a stumbleupon addict. This turned out to be a dangerous combination as one day, whilst using stubleupon. I was directed to a site, which downloaded a virus. My hard drive was wiped and I lost a lot of valuable information (yes I should have backed up more frequently). I had to pay a lot of money to a data recovery expert who managed to recover about 70% of the hard drive. After this I realised a definition based virus package was useless so looked for antivirus software which stops a virus getting onto your system in the first place, even if the antivirus does not currently have a definition for said virus. I came upon bluepoint security which used a cloud based system and it does exactly that. It will not let anything even slightly suspicious download onto your computer. I have been using it for 2 years now and have not had any problems with viruses. People have mentioned that it is slow to scan for viruses, but after doing a single virus scan, it won't let any more viruses get on your system so you wont need to do more than 1 scan! Unfortunately, it does now appear that the creators of the product are no longer fully supporting it. I was unable to purchase via credit card through their website and was told I would have to do it by phone. I supplied my phone number but they did not phone me. I have therefore had to start using a different antivirus package - Bitdefender. Whilst this seems perfectly good, it slows down system startup and does not appear to be as resource light as Bluepoint. If bluepoint had a working site that accepted payment I would go straight back to them.

  BluePoint Security is the biggest pile of crap to enter the security industry, and I believe that they will go bankrupt soon. I hope they do. BluePoint Security, which is a tiny security company that has only around 30-40 employees, has been using spam methods to advertise their product on the net by running fake test machines to show that their product was the best. What a joke! Do you see Norton testing their own product to show that it's best? Do you see Kaspersky doing such thing? I thought not. But bluepoint security, despite being hated by users who know how a good security suite works, kept trying to induce novice users by continuously advertising their worthless product on YouTube. They claimed their product was better than every security suites on the market. Only a fool would fall for that. What BluePoint Security does is it just flags every file unknown to it as "high risk" files, and the amount of those unknown files are HUGE. DO NOT TRUST THESE GUYS! I REPEAT!!! STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. You can find better and free products like MSE, AVAST, AVIRA, or even COMODO.

  Altogether, I felt that BluePoint outperformed the other antivirus products out there. Sure, its a little bit slower but I think its worth it to get a good scan, who wouldn't? I'd rather spend a half hour and have a clean computer versus a ten minute sloppy scan that leaves me at risk. I don't know about you, but I have my account numbers etc on my computer so I'm very concerned with privacy.

  "deny the unknown"? Thats why every time I download something it asks if i wanna allow it. Well idk, i thought its suppose to deny the unknown. Most average users just love clicking allow, this does nothing more than spam you with pop-ups.

  Summary

  On youtube they created videos showing how to compromise AVG, Avast, Kasparsky etc. Any company that is this desperate is just dangerous. This software is just plain garbage.

  Pretty much everything. You can bet better protection from other products like Comodo Internet Security for FREE.

  BluePoint Security posted a video on YouTube advertising their product by putting their software through their own test called "70 threat challange" and by trashing big boy companies like Kaspersky. Symantec Norton, McAfee, Trend Micro, and AVG failed this so-called test, but, for some reason, BluePoint managed to deny all of these threats and pass it. That's because the test was completely dishonest and fake since Bluepoint had created those 70 threats themselves and added them threats into BluePoint's blacklist, so their software can look like it stopped all the threats. Knowing that those 70 malwares were bad, BluePoint people had configured it to deny all of those 70 malwares used in the test, yet they pretended like they were running a fair malware test. Come on, bluepoint. Not all of us are that stupid. In order to test a AV product, you must test it against fresh URLs that've been live for less than 1 day. But no! BluePoint actually didn't use live malicious URLs; instead, they opened their own folder, in which it had these 70 malwares that they had created that I don't know where they got them from, and they used that to prove their product. Anyone who has knowledge about how to test an AV product would know this test was a bogus one. BluePoint's advertising is false, and they deserve a ticket from Truth In Advertising Committee. Kaskersky, Norton, and McAfee should sue the crap out of BluePoint for trashing good products that u know they work. I downloaded their product just to see how well it did, and it did horrible. It detected about 30% of the malwares, and asked me about what to do "Allow? or Deny?" on rest of them. And what happens when you click "Allow"? You will be infected just like everyone else! Comodo Internet Security Free offers far better protection than BluePoint. Overall, BluePoint Security should be a freeware instead of paid product since it does worse than other free antivirus products. Since it can't even beat free antivirus products like Comodo, Avast, and Avira, forget about their claim that their product is better than Kaspersky Internet Security. If you want a good protection, go for Comodo Internet Security Free (if you don't want to pay). If you have money to spend, then go for Kaspersky Internet Security, which is the best product on the marker (which is expensive, of couse). Just stay away from BluePoint Security. I wouldn't use this product even if it was free!!!

  This product is a joke. It simply flags everything.

  Summary

  actually what bluepoint does is flag everything. So it will stop every zero day threat. But it will also stop everything. All good programs to. It will ask you to allow or block. Then you have to figure out if the program is a threat or not. The average user has no idea, what is good and what isn't. Much like Comodo fire wall with all features turned on, the users has to make the call. All bluepoint says is a unknown program is trying to install, change registry keys or whatever is going on. You would get pop ups all the time when you denied the wrong thing, your program, or internet would not work. This is actually the worst type of protection, because users then start allowing everything, so when the threat is real they allow it and get infected.

  Great security program, have had no problems with it, downloads quickly and when your 30 trial is up either purchase it or delete. No problems deleting the program . Has quick scan option. Dependable reliable software program.

  I could not find anything I didn't like, this has been one of the best I have tried so far and It works well with Avast & Spyware Blaster too.

  Summary

  Simply a great all-around security program, I would suggest this one to anybody looking for a dependable anti-virus/malware...system protection. I"m running Windows 98 SP3 and it did every thing it said it would do. Very pleased with this.

  Claim they're the best, when they absolutely suck. Trashed Kaspersky, AVG, Norton and McAfee - programs you know "do" work; unlike this garbage.

  You have to pay for this??? I wouldn't even use this if it was free or even if it payed me to use it. I'd be infected very soon. Absolute rubbish!!!!
