• Completely free version Bitdefender Antivirus Plus

  Pros

  This is a rebrand of Bitdefender Antivirus Plus 2015. As a result, it has more features than Bitdefender Free, which has less features than the full Bitdefender. Also, it's completely free. You just need to register for a free license every 12 months.

  Cons

  It is a rebrand of the 2015 versionof Bitdefender so is somewhat out of date. However, it still receives definition updates, and it is compatible with Windows 10. I'm sure that in time, they will switch to a more recent version of Bitdefender. It requires yearly registration. If you want to exclude files from detection, you have to do so manually as there is no option to whitelist detected files.

  Summary

  An excellent antivirus for free. Bitdefender consistently does very well in testing, and it's great to see a fully functional free version.

  Exactly Like Bitdefender Free Except The Logo. The installer is about a third smaller however.<br /><br /><span class='notifyMsg'> Updated </span>on Feb 23, 2015<p/>Just to let you know.... After a long and arduous registration battle I found that I only had a years free license. I believe Bitdefenders registration is for life. I also noticed that I was using about 10 percent more of my memory at an idle state than with the real Bitdefender Free. Why settle for something second best? I'm sticking with the original Bitdefender Free.
