Powerful, Simple-To-Use Editor!!
johne1sr- Pros
- Loads and works quickly and reliably under Linux!! Not a single crash (as reported by those using Windows). Syntax highlighting is great. I do Java programming in Linux with Bluefish open in 1 window, and a console open in a Terminal window. The process is simple. Edit source in Bluefish. Compile in Terminal. Make corrections, additions, changes, etc. in Bluefish until I'm happy with the code. Much less complicated and much less resource hungry than a full-blown IDE. I'd rather spend my time programming than learning another IDE tool.
- Cons
- No cons. It works as expected.
- Summary
- I have about 8 editors installed. I started out using Eclipse, but quickly realized that it would take time to learn the IDE. I just wanted to get down to work. I tried 3 or 4 editors before Bluefish, and have stopped looking since I started using Bluefish. If you're an old school programmer, you'll love Bluefish!
constantly crashes
xiaoken- Pros
- free. Appears to highlight html, php, and js, but I didn't get much chance to test as it constantly crashes.
- Cons
- constantly crashes (on windows 7).
- Summary
- looks like it would be okay if it didn't constantly crash
Keeps crashing on both my laptop and desktop
dexteriot- Pros
