BitTorrent technology has revolutionized the way we share files, making the transmission of movies, large pieces of software, and entire albums of music a relatively quick process. There are many torrent-sharing clients out there to choose from, and BitSpirit is one of the better ones we've encountered. There's nothing flashy about it; it's just a well-designed, easy-to-use piece of software that makes sharing torrents a breeze.

BitSpirit's interface is attractive and intuitive, and even users with rudimentary torrent knowledge will be able to figure it out. Clear, well-labeled buttons give users access to the program's major functions, and the layout is well-organized and easy to navigate. A small, unobtrusive toolbar with adjustable opacity lets users keep an eye on their torrents even when using other programs. Actually using the BitSpirit is extremely simple; we had no trouble downloading a torrent or creating a new torrent to share. We especially liked that BitSpirit lets users organize downloaded files by media type, making it easy to locate music, books, movies, software, and more. There was nothing about BitSpirit that really wowed us, but that's OK; if a program does the basics and does them well, sometimes that's all you need. We do wish that BitSpirit had a proper Help file instead of a paltry online FAQ, but that's our only major criticism. On the whole, we liked BitSpirit very much.

BitSpirit is free. It installs politely but leaves a folder behind upon removal. We recommend this program to all users.

When minimized or another program runs after BitSpirit, it turns into kind of taskbar on top of everything, which I don't like much. The program might simply minimize itself to Windows taskbar.

The main thing is I can browse the internet and multi-task while downloading torrents. I had to dump utorrent because it was making my computer slow and crash.
Cons
not all the bells and whistles of the others. But this client downloads torrents really fast and doesn't slow your computer with high CPU usage, like utorrent and the others do.

If any software is stable works well and looks nice, neat with a good name I'll download it if needed =) Just like I rejected Google chrome for 'Comodo Dragon' !! dose the same thing... But has a kool name that I'm not Bord of saying! with a great Icon! Same as bitspirit... kool name great icon, and it works... If it didn't I would wait or seek others.

No automatic update. Also Just allow yourself a few minutes to go through and explore all the options so you don't make any mistakes as it is MUCH more customizable and has many more options than uTorrent, Bit torrent etc.
Summary
This is a wonderfully simple torrent program at first glance which is unobtrusive, lightweight, very stable and easy to use. However it is also jammed packed with customizable options. Simple things such as being able to set whether the memory needed to download the torrent is all allocated at the start or as it downloads, being able to preview video downloads before they are completed through the program itself, and being able to remove status bar if preferred are all little touches that set BitSpirit above the competition. The program itself sets up with a minimum of fuss and gives excellent speeds on its default settings, unlike many torrent programs. This speed and stability straight out of the box, so to speak, with an interface that anyone that has used a torrent client before will instantly be able to use, combined with its multitude of extras and options should allow both novices and power users to get to grips and enjoy the program immediately. Updates are pretty regular with the developers keeping on top of any problems that may arise, saying that tho it has never crashed on me, lost a download or given an error on a torrent. Wrap this all up with a crisp clean color scheme and interface and you have what is easily the best torrent client around at the moment, putting uTorrent, Bit Comet and Vuze to shame.

This program is worth a try. @ScottEvanson As far as "being to fast for it's own good", I just don't know buddy. I used the setup wizard that it comes with to set the max DL speed to 3mb/sec & the max UL speed to 2mb/sec. If you're missing that setup wizard, you may need to do a reinstall.

This application is extremely fast. I have achieved speeds in the hundreds of MB's @ second. Easy to use and set up. Good design and graphics. I highly recommend it to torrent users. It's the best I have ever used.
Cons
The only problem I have had with it is that It's too fast. I have to use public Internet at a local coffee shop and when it runs either it is too fast or the ISP is blocking it because I loose my connection within a few minutes.

It just might be too fast for it's own good. I like the design and ease of use but I haven't been able to figure out how to limit the download speed. It just won't let you change it PERIOD. I've tried everything I can think of. Maybe someone else out there has used it also and knows something I don't. Within a few minutes of my starting it I loose my Internet connection and I wind up with a warning symbol in my notification area. The only thing I can do after that is uninstall the driver and wait 30 or 40 minutes before reinstalling the driver otherwise I still get the warning symbol. I haven't figured out if it's the ISP blocking this application ( I know they are blocking Vuze ) or if it's just so fast my processor can't handle it. I'm running a new (2 months old) computer that has Windows 7 (64 bit ) Home Premium. If anyone else has used this application I would like to hear from them and see what their experience has been. Anyone else out there having the same problem? I'm not sure which version I'm running ( I can't find the installer ). I have it I just don't know where.
