  This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.<br />Most games can be thought of as a combination or twist on another game or group of games. One of the things I like most about Indy games is that they're way more likely than the "big studio" games to explore new gaming territory. Biofilm definitely explores new gaming territory - you're controlling a collection of bacteria that have different properties, trying to attack another group of cells in a petrie dish. The closest analogy in gameplay I can think of is the Myth series. Actually, like Myth, in spite of being an action game, there's way more strategy involved than is obvious. (How do you use those molotov-throwing dwarves without killing everyone else anyway?) This demo lets you play only one of the practice campaigns, and it's not the easiest one. I spent 30 minutes trying and failing to figure out how to combine my cell armies against the baddies. The game is professionally put together, as is the web site. The video readme is great. And the price is very fair. My only nits: the demo is a bit too hard, and the "powerful command mode" isn't at all obvious how to invoke.
