  Pros

  I fully affirm the Pro points of the foregoing, three reviewers -- and only can add to their encomiums that I've been relying on this app for five years, now.

  Cons

  "bschendel"'s first point is spot-on -- and as minor. The anonymous engineer accurately notes that, while it's not *perfect,* its developer is hyper-attentive to requests for help or suggestions for improving future versions.

  Pros

  Perfect for Web Design / Marketing business. I evaluated about 10 apps before finding this one. I don't normally leave reviews but If this saves others the time I wasted looking at a lot of alternatives I'll be happy. Main features that sold me on this one were. <p> <p>* View summary table of hours (billed v unbilled) expenses & outstanding invoices & payments. (why is it so hard to find a reasonably priced app to do this?) <p>* Server version to let multiple staff track hours (basically just cost me a 2nd license, but still way cheaper than the likes of quickbooks which costs $750 for the Australian version or MYOB.) <p>* Great little punch clock tool (wtih handy single button click to swap projects - perfect for those interuptions where you quickly need to switch to a different project <p>* Can also manually log hours & expenses & materials & markup etc. <p>* Handles down payments / deposits very well, and you can allocate future billable hours against the client's deposit. <p>* Can bill multiple projects on one invoice - perfect for where you need to separate the client's main project from side projects for transparency but still want to give the client one bill. (can also bill project by project). <p>* Flexible handling of tax - eg Australian GST was very easy to setup. <p>* Customisable HTML invoice template <p>* Can export to CSV files. <p>* It also handles materials, generates a bunch of reports and other stuff I don't use, but for something that does everything you'd expect without being overly complicated (or pricey) this is app is the one. <p> <p>Main thing I loved about this app was that it was IMMEDIATELY & intuitively easy to just start working in it - entering clients, projects, hours, invoices & payments & it gives a perfect overview table of your immediate position vis a vis your clients re hours yet to bill (by client / project), and invoices outstanding.

  Cons

  It's not a comprehensive small business management & accounting program, but rather a simple & easy to use tool for tracking hours, expenses, materials, vendors, billing, payments & basic reporting.

  Pros

  Easy to learn & use; easy access to functions; great reporting flexibililty; excellent flexibility with appearance of invoices; preferences lets you tweak every little thing; stable; small memory footprint; even lets you manage who's paid and not.

  Cons

  In the trial mode it tries to automatically get you to use the online data backup thing-- probably so they can track who's using the software. But I didn't appreciate that (I value having control over my own data thank you very much) It would also be nice if it remembered the last screen you were on when you quit and opened to that, instead of defaulting to the Manage Clients page. But really these are very minor nitpicks. It's a great app for the money.

  Pros

  Invoicing multiple clients on multiple projects takes about 15 minutes per month with this software. It would take me hours with Excel. It is way better than MS Money for small business. Good support, too.

  It has had a few bugs, but the developer has been very attentive to working them out.

  Pros

  A great, simple, easy to use yet powerful billing and tracking system for almost any end-user. I like the timer and the ability to change the language used ie. custom changes to the dictionary mean that if you want it to say GST instead of TAX it will do so, or 'Send Payment To' instead of 'Ship To' - nice feature!

  Cons

  The invoicing SUCKS! While the billing system is an important part of business, almost AS important (sometimes even MORE important) is the impression your client gets. Unfortunately I have no faith in the invoices created by BillingTracker that my clients will be impressed - actually I hold grave fears that they would be irritated by these invoices. <p> <p>The developers have put some effort in, so there are 5 different invoice layout options to choose from, but you can tell they were designed by geeks and not by anyone with an ounce of 'layout design' skill at all! In essence, there's absolutely no 'Feng Shui' (look it up on Wikipedia if you don't know what that is!) in their layouts. <p> <p>Even a simple invoice with 1 lot of hours, 1 Materials charge and one mileage charge can spread over to a second page! There are some massive and completely unnecessary gaps and white spaces, and all of a sudden you're needing a second page! <p> <p>In summary, if you're in desperate need of some billing software, BillingTracker is great, but if you're looking to make a professional impression and add the WOW factor to your invoices, keep shopping or look forward to a future release that may have improvements?...

  Pros

  Very easy to use and makes tracking time spent a breeze. Invoicing is simple, as is keeping track of A/R. As for the customer service, I can't rave about this enough, it really is the best EVER. Love the free trial too - how else can you properly evaluate software????

  Cons

  Really minor thing - it'd be nice if drop down menus were alphabetically (or numerically sorted). I believe this may be coming in the next update due early 2006.

  Pros

  The time tracking feature when working online is great. I wish there were a 'client' type tracker I could use on PC's at various place's and bring it back to my database....just a little lazy I guess. Overall, this product is great at supplying the basics needed for time tracking, client tracking, billing and payments.

  Cons

  The reports are a little weak and inflexible but they do provide the basics.

  Pros

  Does what it describes, tracks and invoices detailed work and expenses. The interface takes a little getting use to but after that it is a solid program for the money. After one month of use I am happy.

  Cons

  Some of the menus and selection boxes do not work as desired. You have to click an item even if it is already selected. Customization of the invoices is limited but I have not tried real hard to customize them yet. Can not included credited hours (negative hours). No option to be able to include/report non-billable hours.
