PDF files have become the standard way to distribute formatted documents online. BCL EasyPDF offers a quick way to translate other types of documents into that form, taking the print output from almost any application and turning it into a PDF. As is typical of programs that install as print drivers, its interface isn't accessible through the Windows Start menu. Instead, options for formatting and creating the PDFs appear after you choose the Print option inside other applications. From here, a user can adjust the quality and file size of embedded images, add security and watermarks, and select from a variety of paper sizes. In Microsoft Word, the program also installs a new toolbar that provides a few extra options linked to Word formatting. Unlike some other PDF creators, BCL EasyPDF doesn't provide advanced features such as a preview function or editing tool, but its output does a good job of mirroring the original documents. On the whole, we feel comfortable recommending this program as long as you don't need to do any substantial editing of documents during the conversion process.

While this product doesn't have all the bells and whistles of acrobat, it does exactly what it claims to do and does those things as good or better then acrobat. Conversions are faster and file size is smaller. Gives you all the functionality that 90% of acrobat users ever use. One thing to be aware of is that there is no interface as this application works as a printer. You can find the options in the printer properties on the print dialog.

I am also using ScreenHunter. But when I had EasyPDF printer driver installed, I could no longer use ScreenHunter. There would be no response for the latter when I pressed F6. If I uninstall EasyPDF, ScreenHunter could function again. If this interference could be removed, then EasyPDF would deserve five stars.

However, I don't like the fact that it installs into applications like Word (as a button on the tool bar), and is not a stand alone program. Although it did uninstall fine and Word seems ok (at the moment!).

<p>I guess this makes it easy to use but, please, I'm just not happy with freeware installing itself into other more expensive applications (I guess I need to read the fine-print!), maybe this type of application is the future, but I'm not happy with it!

<p>The trail package has a WATERMARK that appears at the bottom of each pdf reading "created using BLC easyPDF Print Driver with a logo, and is fairly unobtrusive.

<p>A free plug is fine for a free program, but if your hoping to use this freeware to produce profession documents then forget it. Otherwise you can buy the package to remove the watermark. You get what you pay for in the end (or not as the case might be!).
