Pros
Too many too mention, but let me give you a few of my favorites. 1. Easy to install. 2. Works Great and the trial never expires. (remember that?) 3. Everything is only one click away. 4. Private Messages (Like a "While-You-Were-Out note, but can be used for inconsequential communications). 5. You can hide features you don't want/need. (like updating twitter or chatting) 6. Themes 7. Tracks user In and Out History like I said.... too much to list here. But let me add a few our IT department likes. 1. Super easy to integrate with Exchange or Share Point 2. Not a traffic pig. 3. It's essentially a simple website so there's zero maintenance. As for bugs? None! lol. Ok... found one. The trial (in 2004!!) was missing an email icon/image. The Install works great and manual install instructions are on the site and conveniently labeled "Install Help". Want to uninstall it? No problem. Just delete the install folder. That's it.
Cons
Must be at the physical machine to use the installer because the settings get applied to the pc running the Install (no surprise there). But if you know how to give the IIS IUser_MachineName permissions, or know how to setup a website, it's easy peasy to do manually.
Summary
We've been using the BC In Out Board for years (version 4 I think). Support has been way above the norm. For example, I've had them respond to me within 90 seconds. really! Had them migrate our users to new version for free. Had lots of slight modifications for free (because they thought the feature suggestions were so good they included them in their release! (like having the users picture pop up when you hover the mouse over a user's name). We've tried a few others to see how they've evolved and they just haven't kept up at all. Not even close. BC Software rules this space. Get It. Someone above gave a one line "don't get it". Well I say get the trial and decide for yourself. Even if you do buy it and don't like it, your credit card will reimburse you and take it back from them, so where's the risk in that? lol. Pros
The only pro was that it was cheap! But watch out, you get what you pay for!
Cons
Support takes forever and there are tons of bugs in the releases!
Summary
Don't buy it! We are going with another IN-OUT Board instead because their support is awesome and their software is feature loaded and bug free!
This In/Out Board is simply the best.

Pros
- Awesome Support. Support got back in 5 minutes with a solution to our install issues (we were installing across the network.) - Can easily disable features. But why would you want to? - Easy to modify. Jr people do it. - Beat everyone on price.
Cons
- I want to drag & drop columns. - Would be nice to only show my department. (They're nice folks, but I don't care about the marketing team) - MySQL was easy once I got the script they provided. (just include it) - Better Help file needed.
Summary
Overall, the BC In Out Board shines. The features are really convenient and stay out of the way. Setup was atypical because we have servers across the US and Canada. But once we spoke to them, we had them running in 5 min (IIS read/write issue). Nice Wiki. Simple and to the point. The in and out board solved a big problem we had concerning etiquette and were holding off on the "Social" stuff because of it. We were worried about the political fallout of an underling editing and modifying a manager's articles (ya.. some employees know more about some stuff than their boss. No biggie). The in out board let's you assign who can modify a Wiki article (+ admin and the super-admin users of course). The Private message feature let's people "suggest" changes to an article diplomatically. Our sales team (US and Canada) are always calling people in different countries so we hope the International Dialer will reduce some costs. Wait and see on this one. The Forums are well, forums. At first I thought they were overkill. Why do we need forums in-house? I thought. Well, it's now neck and neck with our corporate portal in usage. We had to move this component because of the sheer volume that was being pumped into it. Thankfully, the database architecture is simple, and translated flawlessly to SQL Server. It's been a long time that I've found something that over delivers. Especially at this price. Tweet to twitter is used, but mostly by our marketing and sales people. Any chance of having an internal twitter with the next release? Hope so. Now for the cons. I seriously don't have any hot issues here. The GUI could use some polish, but maybe I'm just used to flashbang. Still, flashbang is nice sometimes. NO MP3 PLAYER!!! (I had to add that;). While it's configurable, I'd like more granularity in the permission assignments. For example, I'd like to assign a person of my choosing to update MY status. At present, only admin, Super-admin, and I can update it. I want my assistant to update it without giving her admin privileges. I mentioned that a better help file is needed. But I didn't use it once anyway. so... I don't think I've ever given and product an A+, but this one actually deserves it.

Best one we've tried. Price is right. Source Code is easy to modify. Fast Support request turnaround. Modified little stuff for us for free. Migrated all our users (200+) for free.
Cons
Haven't found any yet (2 years use and just upgraded to this version)
Summary
Worth the price. The Forum and Instant messaging is good to have. Seem to be growing in the right direction. Not that it isn't all grown up already.
Nice. Complete. Easy.

Simple to install. Simple to use. Time tracking. Forum, Knowledge base and Messaging can be turned off. Custom fields (or hiding them) are great to have. Had them add a few extras for us and the bill came to $150. lol. V Nice.
Cons
$250 for the source code. But I'm a cheap SOB. lol.
Summary
We've had a few of these and this one wins hands down in every department. It's a keeper. Get it.
Works better than the "best". Good time track report.

Pros
One click updates. Easy to rename fields to something that we can use. Hide/Show is great. Allow or disallow guest access is useful. Color coding is a real nice bonus. Hyperlinks on everything is optional but we use it. Private messages - BIG bonus!
Cons
While we can add our "mark" on the page headers (title) it would also be nice to be able to change the whole look and feel. Mind you... you can get the source code so...
Summary
We've had a few over the last couple years, and this puppy beats them all hands down. Even the price kicks butt. Support was 10 minutes in responding and helped us with a language thingy via a custom fix FOR FREE! And that was on the Trial Version!!! lol. We got the Source Code version and the gave us a MySQL script so we could use that instead of the Access backend (which worked fine, but we're a big shop with 800+ users.) If I could hand them 6 stars I would.
