• 1.8 Mod is a piece of useless crap

  There is absolutely nothing to like about game crashes and artificially large explosions.

  Cons

  Deceptive name tricks some into thinking it's a patch, the game crashes. This is actually a mod, and a crappy one at that. I can't call this an upgrade, it's a downgrade and at best is just an insult to the game. It falsely claims to prevent hacking.

  Summary

  This product ruins your Battlezone installation, so be sure to back up your entire Battlezone directory before trying out this crappy mod. Be prepared for the single player campaign to be broken and crash, and for you to have nobody to play with online because of version mismatch. This mod doesn't prevent hacking, as it makes no changes to the game executable. A mod that only modifies game files claiming to prevent hacking... what a load of crap! Anti-hack is added in 1.5 Beta, it's done within the code. If Ken Miller patches Battlezone in several versions up to 1.8, I'll be happy because then this mod will need a new name: Radigatorzone.

  Pros

  With 1.8 explosions are better, graphics are better, lighting is better, physics is better - what else could you want added to a 90%+ reviewed game all over the web? This patch quite simply turns Battlezone into a 100% reviewed game, because if it looked and played and sounded like this originally it would have got 100% reviews!

  There is nothing to not like about this patch, downloading and enjoy this great game all over again!

  Didn't have to do anything more than a reinstall of Battlezone, but you don't expect these sort of things to mess things up. Looked different when it was working. I can't get on their site and I am pretty sure I did everything right.

  This one took a bit of time to recover from... Had to re install game... Have never tried multiplayer but it totally ruined my single player Battlezone fun... :( and what is a BZF?

  Go ahead, download it, but be prepared to have to reinstall BZ from scratch, and possibly your entire WIN. Well, its so bad that there isn't anyone online to play it with anyway.

  First of all.. This Unofficial Patch is legal... It's no different that what a new map or a mod would be. The people who dislike are mostly BZF Slaves. These BZF Slaves are people who follow a person who belives in Dictatorship of Gaming and is afraid of my talents. So he gets his people to post bad remarks. BZ1.8 is easy to uninstall as well under the statmenu. There are 4 lan Clans that use 1.8 non-Stop. Most games are orginized in chat when people want to start a 1.8 game. You could always just try it out and than uninstall... No big Deal. This Unofficial Patch was been out for 10 months and yet people are still talking about it, people still can't stop talking... You think they would stop by now :)
