• Could NOT uninstall

  Pros

  It finally loaded after several warning windows (during installation) that it was an untested program by Microsoft and that it could damage my Windows installation. It had a nice wizard to set up the bandwidth.

  Cons

  A little difficult to use. It wasn't clear if it worked on my wireless system. I could not uninstall the program after trying control panel or the uninstall icon that came with the program.

  I could not uninstall the program after trying control panel or the uninstall icon that came with the program. The message upon uninstall says "Bandwidth Controller doesn't appear to be installed. Click OK to ignore this warning..." When I do force the removal, I get a message saying that removal was succsessful, but the program icons are still there and functional. When reviewing the uninstall log I get this text: "Forcing un-installation. Stopping service...Unable to stop service, error 1060. Removing service...Unable to remove service. Removing kernel component...successful. I guess it is important to head those installation warnings. I will open a support ticket from their web site and will report back.

• ISA 2006 - works fine and performs as advertised

  Pros

  Have problems with IPSec tunnels connecting branches and occassional mail floods. Installed Bandwidth Controller on the ISA 2006 firewall and it limited the SMTP port 25 traffic to quaranteed VPN site-to-site bandwidth using simple rules. <p> <p>Find the traffic - right click on the traffic you wish to control and it create a rule....simple. KISS

  Cons

  Installs Kernel drivers (fake network drivers) that are not signed. After SONY's effort of installing low level 'drivers' it is very difficult security decision to allow unsigned drivers...and costs the developer little.

  If you can ever get it to monitor the correct i.p. address and port, you're almost going to be alright.

  Cons

  It doesn't always know the difference between your LAN and your WAN card. When you start the client it won't find the server about half the time. If you change you network cards, you're going to have reinstall the whole thing! If you don't know what I'm talking about, go ahead. You'll find out.
