• Deceptive Bartels Media, again.

  Pros

  It has all the good points of PhraseExpress, which is what it is.

  Cons

  It has all the bad points of PhraseExpress which does not have a "FREE" version. Bartels Media lies and says that it is freeware, but it is ad-ware through and through as you will discover most likely when you are in the middle of something important and it suddenly teels you that you are a liar and using it commercially and to cough up the money. Don't touch this junk even with a stick.

  Summary

  Stay away. You'll end up with disguised ad-ware, just like with PhraseExpress.

  Pros

  Nice but limited autotext program

  Cons

  Phrase Express, Autotext and Instant Type are all variations on the same program by the same people, and they contain the same problems. This particular program appears to be exactly the same as Instant Type.

  Summary

  I wanted an alternative to the very capable but buggy and poorly supported Phrase Express. I found that this program, Autotext and another Instant Type are the same program and they duplicate many of the bugs in Phrase Express. Shame on the publisher and shame on Cnet for not figuring this out, or disclosing it.

  Pros

  Ur dling PhraseExpress. Autotext is no longer supported/distributed because it became to too popular [per website]. PE has MORE options and is actually a shareware version [free for personal], but has internal checking for corp use [respectively].

  Cons

  The listing is deceptive in nature. It's not AUTOTEXT; it's PhraseExpress.The authors should update their listing accordingly. Original version was not as easy to enter new autotexts.

  Summary

  I think PhraseExpress is a good product, but shouldn't hide under the skirt of another product name like Autotext.
