Doesn't Work in Mountain Lion

- Tried multiple times but it does NOT mute the startup sound. Checked the preferences and everything was checked but it doesn't work. This is the THIRD app that I have tried (also tried start ninja and another that I can't remember) in order to mute the mac on startup... it actually seems impossible. Apple seem intent to have you advertise MACINTOSH loudly to the library/lecture/sleeping family everytime you startup the computer. Only way to avoid this is to never turn you mac off. At least their batteries are great so this is actually possible, although most computers (macs included) tend to start doing weird things if you don't shut them down for a while...
