Atom - Movie Tickets and Showtimes for iOS

The Atom mobile movie-ticketing app displays the latest movie showtimes, info, trailers, and reviews, and enables you to buy movie tickets. It even lets you split movie ticket orders with friends.

Pros

Great discovery tool: You can scroll the default Movies page, with its tile layout, to see all the latest movies. Tap any one for movie info, critics reviews (powered by our sister site Metacritic), audience ratings, and movie showtimes. Or tap the Theaters button to find movies by theater. Tap Upcoming to see what's coming your way through the end of the year.

Many participating theaters: Enable location sharing to see all the theaters near you, playing the movies you want to see. Atom supports 16 popular chains, including AMC Theatres, Regal Cinemas, and ArcLight Cinemas. If you'd prefer to maintain some semblance of privacy, you can also just enter your location each time you search for movies or theaters.

Buy tickets, get rewards: Purchase tickets and link your loyalty accounts to get reward points and offers for your purchases. You can link to AMC Stubs, Regal Crown Club, Showcase Starpass, and Vision Club Rewards from New Vision. After purchasing, your ticket will be available in the app. Just scan the QR code at the theater entry for admission.

Add snacks and drinks in advance: Look for the yellow Order Food and Drink button when checking out or anytime before the show at participating locations to add snacks and drinks to your order. When you get to the theater, skip the long line and pick up your order at a special Atom Tickets line.

Split purchases with friends: Allow Atom access to your contacts and then invite your friends to join you for a particular movie by SMS or email.

Easy cancellations: You can just tap the Cancel Order button to cancel your order up to 30 minutes before showtime.

Cons

Convenience fee: You are charged a small convenience fee for each ticket you purchase in the app.
