• Doesn't Work for WMA

  None. Worthless waste of time.

  Cons

  Recovered wma file is only as long as the part that would play in Windows Media Player. The damaged files (before recovery) will play completely in VLC, but the bad spots are silent. This program will not fix the file so it's playable in Windows Media Player.

  Pros

  Able to fix half my corrupt videos. Not sure how to fix the remaining AVIs. If you have a digital camera always move the files through the usb cable not the flash card! That's how mine got messed up.

  Would like to give them some money for helping me out but $30 seeems to be too much.

  None. Some people complain about lack of options, but this is free software. I appreciate the person(s) who took the time to write the code and then make it available for free.

  Pros

  I have tried out this software now on a couple of .avi files. The first file was recovered enough to play and recognise, but was not watchable. The second file was completely recovered. Both times I used the Advanced Mode, so I don't know how effective Fast Mode is.

• Did enough; needed a conversion program to finish job

  Pros

  Created a full-size temporary avi file which had the corrected codec tags

  Cons

  The repaired file was only of size 2k. However I used a conversion program on the repair_tmp file; converting it to mp4. The conversion program could not open the original (bad) file.

  Summary

  I now have a playable video; albeit now in a different format. It took an additional program but who cares? This repair program did the heavy lifting.

  Did not repair mpg files, wmv in particular. Some were repaired, others it said it repaired were not.
